Went to the freighters at 0930 and nothing for almost an hour. Saw two boats pack up and go towards Bowen and thought we'd have to do the same. Nope. We stayed out a bit deeper (180'), near the bottom and as soon as we saw the bait, you could almost predict the hits for the rest of the day. Got sealed but managed to keep our gear, 3 double headers, landed about 15 but only one keeper, a hatchery. The only gear we lost was our sling shot and when I had to resort to throwing rocks at the seals, my wife said why are you using your weak hand? I said he wasn't. She said, oh.

Haha. .you've perfectly described why I gave up on golf years ago. I ripped out at 1230, figured lines in by 1. Both happened then the downrigger drama kicked in for a half hour, resolved around 145. 3 undersized to the boat then a nice one in shallower around 115' middle of the bay. Nice fish, keeper size and had him at the boat. Went to reach for the net and got waked by one of the Chandlers boats as I had my back to it, oops slack in the line and hes back for one of you to bonk tomorrow.

Usual program, AP 4" green spoon did best over the skinny g today. I started in 180' in the mid and dragged towards the park, in the middle of the Bay away from the crowds closer to Spanish banks.

Maybe its me but all the fish I've seen this week have been hatchery. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow or Sunday, it was a beautiful day for sure.

Sex, golf, and fishing all in one day is an elusive trifecta. I've heard stories, but never cashed in myself.
100% have done this. Didn't realize what an accomplishment it was until just now. 100% will never happen again I can guarantee that lol. The freedom, desire and stamina to do that only occurs in the first sex months of the relationship. ;)

Hahaha. Very doable in the summer. Short December days make it tough, especially with frost delays...

34knt outflow wind at Pam Rocks right now. Debating whether going up the Sound for some prawning and trolling would be a good idea today....

Out to drop the lines this a.m. for the first time since September 20. Had 6 bites in the harbour on Skinny G’s ... 3 undersized, 2 that were 64 cm and 65cm respectively, and 1 that popped off and went for a good run but didn’t stick. Fished mainly between the 2nd Mile Marker and the Bell Buoy.

A stunning Westcoast December morning followed by BBQ salmon for lunch ... a great way to forget about everything else that is going on right now.

First go of the season this morning for winter springs.
Hit Tunstal for first light, first boat in and hooked a beauty on the first pass...but the d!ckhead tax collector decided it needed it more than me. Bait was packed in on the flood. Grabbed another about 70cm out deep and released a couple smalls before it got too busy. Lots of boats by time I left.
black double glow /3” herring aid and 645 plug. Fish was full of shiners. 177 on the rigger was good today.
Beautiful day
