I bought this boat over the weekend it’s a 21ft campion podded it didn’t come with a trailer so I picked up this 25ft karavan trailer for 3000$ should I do some fab work and make it so it sits better or should I just buy new trailer and resell this one?

I put some pics of how the boat is sitting on the trailer!!

Thanks!

For safety, the bow should be snugly up against the bow roller. Otherwise it is not ideal but it could be made to work. Likely you'll be better off to buy a more suitable trailer.

Trailer is to big, sell it and get the proper one that fits the boat

Like profisher said, trailer is way to big (long) for your boat. Sell it and get the right size one for your boat.

I know someone looking for a trailer for 26ft boat.
Yours might be suitable.
What area are you in?
Lmk if you are selling.

You could do some fab work to make it fit, but it would likely change the dynamics of how the trailer towed, especially regarding the tongue weight. You would have to move the bow stop backwards a fair bit, fabricating a custom mount for it. That would lessen the tongue weight considerably, and to compensate, you would need to move the axles back. Or you could move the boat forward to the to the bow stop. You would have to shorten the trailer at the back a couple of feet, which would involve moving the cross supports for the bunks and shortening both sides of the frame, taking into account that the cross supports also act as frame crossmembers. Again you may have to move the axles, to correct the tongue weight. How are the brakes and wiring? Having to redo them would be an additional expense. With a properly fitted trailer, your boat would be much safer to tow. Another thing to consider is that any modifications you make will affect the carrying capacity of your trailer, and may involve an inspection, or you may find your insurance invalid should you be involved in an accident.
Weigh this against the cost of a new trailer (dual axle, surge disc brakes etc.).

looks way to dangerous like that for any towing. Looks like a lot of work to make that trailer work for your boat i'd sell it and find something better suited for your boat.
