Crab trap materials

Anyone have any idea where a guy can get stainless wire mesh for a crab trap? I have tried numerous places and spent some time surfing but can't find anything. Either hard wire or soft wire. Appreciate any input, thanks.

I have some of the Ladner stainless traps and to be honest it looks like they just make it right on the traps with wire. It's like a very basic weave, almost cheesy looking. But I guess you've just gotta make holes less than 3" and you're good.

Yes, they do hand craft on site. That's partly why there so expensive. I may just have to go with a plastic, like construction fencing, the orange stuff. Something like that maybe.

Thanks SV, I'll give them a call during the week. Looks like they only supply weaving wire though. I don't know how to weave. My welding is bad enough

The Aqua Pacific guys should be able to help you out. They have lots of wire mesh for crab and prawn traps. Rope as well. Good quality stuff. Not affiliated at all with them, just a satisfied customer.
