Scotty Power Socket

Has anyone tried the new Scotty sockets? Pros or cons? The new setup looks quite different and runs about $10 more.

It's time to replace mine: I don't feel like playing with the socket while I'm playing a fish.

Hmmm, I like the idea but I'd have problems mounting those...

I understand the cap cover but I'd still never mount them facing up thru my side railing top plate and it does not look like they can be side flush mounted like the old ones so I'd have to weld up some type of housing to mount the plug in then flush mount the housing.

I seem to do okay twisting a rolled piece of emory paper around the inside of the old style Scotty plug every three months.... and I'd have to re-rig my trap puller which uses the same scotty electrical plug... which all sounds like too much work

Terminal block with wheel grease baby! My downriggers have not had a connection problem in 4 years doing that.

Looks like a good setup.Might be a bit tricky cleaning the female end though.
