Just read the Pacific Angler Friday report, can't remember a report that was that bad.....ever. Should we expect to see a whole lot of fish showing up in the next few weeks??

There better be or Cohen may have to get ready for his next "commission". ;)

Curious to hear from old timers how fishing was in 70s and 80s off mouth of Fraser. I'm assuming it was non-stop action on all species from mid July through end Sept?

I remember fishing ambleside with my dad in 80s and salmon literally jumping into our boat. I was out yesterday and there was the odd jumper (decent sized jumpers), but my memory had huge schools of coho jumping 30+ yrs ago...

Not wrong bout the dogfish. I hooked 7 of them, switched to hoochies and they stayed away.
One rod pop, but lost it. Prob was another dog though.
Last wednesday, nada for any boat 10 am to 5 pm. Two bon chovy boats working Point Atkinson didn't get a fish either. Tide and winds should be good Sunday. Lots of fish on the sounder. Few dogs but that was it from Bell Buoy to Point Atkinson. Marked fished halfway between these two points that was interesting. Watch out for paddle boarder and big canoes at Vanier launch. They never warn you when you are in front of them , especially when you are going to dock.

I'm not expecting any more fish to show up soon, maybe middle of Sept. there will be the odd Harrison spring but not many. Its not been good for the past few years and this could be the end.

I guess i had some luck on my side this morning. Picked up a 17 white at 8:30, then filled my limit with a 15 red at noon. Went 2 for 2 but all most lost the last one over the side while cleaning and dodging sailboats. Both on chovies at tbe bell. Maybe their starting.
Good to hear!! What depths you get them at ?

To all salmon fishing.... Sounds like a special group got their will, I got no problem as long as everyone is included.

Sandheads offshore was very good until the Killers showed up and then it was lights out. They are cruising past the Bell now.

didn't fish today, but noticed two boats trying to poach rockfish on the east side of Boyer Island this afternoon.... reported them to the report line (it's a Rockfish Conservation Area). Got pics and their boat #s too - one Washington, one Cdn. Thankfully didn't see them catch anything....DFO did not show up....The WA boat headed up to Anvil closed area later in the afternoon :(

what speed?
One was caught with the current one was caught against it. I was trying to stay out of dogfish so would have been up a bit and faster coming back. Not quite sure on the exact speeds as they were up and down quite a bit with tbe weather. It was a bit rough out there at times today. I new the river would be a bit nasty coming out in the morning and it did not dissapoint.

No one has reported from the Bell. There were quite a few boats out this am. I fished the early tide - nothing but a couple dogfish. Didn't see much bait and no nets were waving...

Fished out at the sandheads had 3 undersize seen a couple nice ones get hooked but got off.About 14 boats or so in the area.

I got up this morning checked the weather and went back to bed thinking the river mouth could be nasty. Fished 4-8 instead. It was a beautiful night! Had two hits that did not stick. Then hit a spring at 7pm, everything went really well until I tried to net him early solo, choked up on the handle a bit much and ran out of reach just a bit before I had him all the way in. He was not a happy fish and bolted under the boat and broke off. That's fishing. Hooked him at 44' on chovie at the bell. It's either picking up a bit or I had horseshoes on board this weekend.
