OFFICIAL 2015 Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

Hey I'm heading out tomorrow for my first time this year. I don't have time to make the run the Thrasher and back, has anyone heard of any fish off the hump around or Howe Sound?

I fished the mouth of the harbor this morning and caught a 10lb spring on my usual white and green spoon, 112' deep in 200' of water. So yeah there's still a few in close..

The ability to write work emails with one hand while fishing is a wonderful thing.

Winds laying down supposedly for Friday ....... Hope to get over for a day at Thrasher...... Looks good to go so far.

Tight lines

The edge of the fraser ploom could be worth a pull. Picked up a nice red Wednesday afternoon north of QA Just below the blanket of silt..

Hey Fishing Magician. !!! Any reports from your guide buddies? Thinking about going out Saturday morning. Looks like it might be to windy to go to thrasher or pollier. Have you heard any reports about hole in the wall?

Thanks

Maybe he's taking a time out after all the negativity towards him. I sure wouldn't blame him.

Boy did some one BLOW this AM's forecast BRURAL .... not even close ! Winds light 5 to 15 NOT ! Blowing like 20 25 from 7 30 am to noon off Thrasher, made for some miserable fishing and crossing there...... started nice from Mcdon park but 1/2 way across she got nasty and stayed for over its welcome. Big strike out for me today ...... saw 2 fish and heard of a couple others early. we started at 8 and got ZIP ! Haddock yes they are still there, to many of them. Nice crab though ......

Anyone out in vancouver area this morning with a weather update? I'm planning to head out from the north arm soon. Thx.

That is from the BC Marine Forecast I think.
When you go to current conditions and hit a buoy, there is an option above for 'Past 24 hours Conditions'

Yep exactly. I regularly compare forecasts to past 24 hours to see how close they are. There is no doubt that Environment Canada is always overshooting the forecast, but they err on the side of safety.
