Nanaimo - Spring / Summer 2014

First fishing trip of the season yesterday morning. Fished in front of the Flattops in 650 feet of water, 140 to 160 down. I was alone so kept it easy on myself by fishing one line- a four inch Irish Cream Coyote behind a green/silver flasher. Most fish marked deeper, 250-300, which I never tried. I'm in a blue 16 foot Lund Renegade with 50 Yamaha. Home (Ladysmith) by 11am. Finally some weather!

If you're going around Mistaken , keep an eye on your depthsounder.......contour is up and down and a lot on the buoy side......

Good marine map will show you what I mean....

Thanks. There sure seems to be a lot of structure in that area.

This ones for you Jeff !!!

I am currently boatless. Anyone that might like company, let me know.
Got my own gear and I'm good for tips and tactics around Nanaimo (3 Tyees 2012. Only fished WCVI 2013). And I know boats don't run on air or thanks.
Getting out of the bush Thursday and 'free' till June. Good to go any day/time. Cheers.
