Regarding the colour of the traps... As a diver I know that red light is the first to be filtered out in the water column. I have not been to 300' but at half that depth everything looks greenish without artificial light. The place I bought the mesh from also stated that they have some commercial fishing customers using it without complaint.

im not saying box traps are bad anything, i love them i went from round to box. but at harbor chanel they ahve these commercial stack round prawn traps and the mesh is dipped in tar or something and apparently the prawns are attracted to the smell
