Ya, that's where I learned to love fishing. My childhood memories are defined by the first collapse, little rebound, and final collapse of the PH salmon fishing. Last time I fished there it was a scratch even to get a bottom fish. But you can (could?) get prawns right outside the entrance to the harbour, inside of the islands... blanking on the names right now. There used to be crab in front of garden bay and in gunboat bay, but watch for closures and gear restrictions (ring nets only used to be the rule). Don't eat the bivalves. There is incredible fishing for sea run cutts in gunboat bay. Troll spin or fly. Work the shallows on a rising tide, or spin cast towards the docks. Boy, I miss that area when I get to thinking about it.

I went in there 3 or 4 years ago ona sailboat trip--first time in 35 years. My uncle used to charter out of Garden Bay when I was a kid ---lots of good fishing memories--sad to see it depleted so badly.
