I've done stupid things before, but this was one of my better **** ups. We planned (not really as you will see) to spend the night out locally, anchored in some bay. Hoped to catch a few prawns on the south side of Gambier for dinner, if really lucky, catch a spring for dinner. First thing we did was throw out the prawn trap and connect the line to wrong side of the float. I watched as the sinking line pulled right through the float. Sort of in slow motion.

About the same time, we realized that we forgot to bring any bedding, so sleeping on the boat was not going to happen.

Fished a bit at hole in the wall, nothing, went home, watch TV. Nice day on the water but not what we were planning (sort of).

Oh well.

I did the prawn trap thing before, only once though. I actually threw the trap out without hooking the clasp on the line! Its ok though, it was my buddys, not mine! har har
