was wondering if anyone knows of spots to fish for Hali in Sidney area.

Theres some spots. D'arcy island area has produced for some, Zero rock area too.

Yup, they produce. Two of the biggest Hali's last year came from the region. Might be heading out that way myself cause everybody with a pick and a line is gonna be crowding the waterfront this weekend!

Still searching for my first hali from that area after many attempts. But, that's part of the fun.

Watch out for the huge closure zone near D'Arcy there are some nice looking spots in there but it's all closed.

I've had some bites and freight train runs, but none landed yet around Little Zero. I've tried Zero several times, but there seems to just be an army of sole. Last time I was there, my friend and I decided to just keep the sole and put them on ice. I believe you can keep 8 per day. We caught about twenty in a few hours and kept about 5 big ones. Keep them iced, then pop them in the microwave bone in with some lemon on top.

Still searching myself. Only managed one out there but they are there. Nice thing about Sidney is the lack of traffic out there- lots of room to explore. And when you find that spot, it's pure gold!
