Voters in the Alberni Valley will get a chance to hear the views of the candidates running in the federal election from Nanaimo-Alberni.
The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce, Port Alberni and District Labour Council and Vancouver Island Realty Board are hosting an all-candidates forum at the Capitol Theatre on April 18.

Seven different parties are in the running in this riding, and everyone has been invited. So far, only the main four parties have indicated they will be in attendance. That includes, Myron Jespersen representing the Green Party of Canada, James Lunney for the Conservatives, Zeni Maartman for the NDP and Renée Miller for the Liberals. In addition to these four, voters may hear from Barbara Biley from the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada, Jesse Schroeder of the Pirate Party and Frank Wagner from the Christian Heritage Party.

Each candidate will be given four minutes to present an opening, without interruption.
That will be followed by the question period and debate session of the evening. Members of the audience will be allowed to ask questions of the candidates.
The forum will conclude by allowing each of the candidates to present a three-minute closing statement.

Doors to the forum open at 6:30 p.m., and it begins at 7 p.m.
