Advice for a newbie

Hello folks, great forum!

A buddy and I (we are just south of Calgary), want to head to the mountains with a truck mounted camper for a week or so to catch many fish and support the local brewing sector.

Can you kindly offer advice on a location or body of water where:
There are a gazillion fish ready to be caught by total newbs, who will be shore fishing
And where there is a campground nearby? We're willing to get off the beaten track. It's his truck, so I don't care about any damage.

how far do you want to travel? There are literally hundreds of places to camp and fish within an 8 hour drive.

Good question, and thank you for the reply. We thinking closer, within four hours or so. I'm open to any suggestion as I don't know anything about waters in BC other than the Elk River.
