2017 OFFISHALL Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

so someone in 80' is going to snag it top banana

no name/ no float ....finders keepers so why chuck it back in for it to cause grief to someone else ....?????
I never chucked back in. I only planned to return if it was someone from sfbc. That was someone else who hooked one floating wild in 150 and reset at 80. That one had a float

Any sign of coho off west van yet? I have company in town this week and was hoping to take them out Sat.

I was out yesterday for just over an hour before I got blown off. The sounder had what seemed like schools of fish from the fisheries lab almost all the way to the Pink apartments. All I could muster was one under size nooky on a anchovy at 60'. Had a white hoochie at 45' and a spoon just off bottom but nothing on those two. Looks to me as if they are staring to come in. Maybe someone with better electronics or just someone who knows how to use theirs better than me can take a peek and chime in as well.

Good luck with the Coho search. Your sounder might have been showing bait and small salmon only. There can be various sizes of bait in there including some large 9-12 inch herring. they will hit small white hoochies and small apex and other small spoons just like the Coho do. The Coho should be a lot higher, like 39' and up towards the surface. However, the search might go better off of Paisley, Worlcombe, Curtis, Cowans, etc., judging by last year...

Anyone fishing RC? Hoping for a wind report. Looks like it's blowing out there but thinking it might be a bit sheltered given the wind direction.

This ought to give you a pretty good idea......

Back out at Cowan yesterday. As well all to myself for the first half hour or so. Managed another 16' red on the green splatterback. Downrigger set at 87'. This one was a reel screamer. Only hit of the morning. Less boats than Saturday, I imagine a lot of guys crossed over.
