He's Back :) HaHa - 2001 Trophy 2359

Hey, I am still lurking in the background and searching for something to use this season... A buddy just texted me that he found a Trophy 2359 that he could get for me at a decent price... All I know right now is the boat comes with a trailer and everything works, not sure on engine condition/hrs or outdrive and it needs new bottom paint, no biggy :)

Any questions I should be asking concerning past problems with these boats... I know, I know its not a Hourston but it will get me on the interior lakes and perhaps a coastal trip the summer...

I requested more pictures so I hope to get them soon.

Not sure I can handle another heartbreak rob don’t think I can get to commited to this one.
#imissthehourstonbuild
Honestly, me either. I am really hoping its all mechinical with this one and maybe some cosmetic... I am NOT ready for a rebuild any time soon.

Looks like it’s missing the stern drive. Seems to be a trim ram hanging there by a rope
...might just have one of those :)

SO any big concern with these boats of that vintage?

I own a Trophy 205. In my opinion they are the Dodge Caravan of the boat world. There's a million of them them around. They do what you want them to do, and are reliable enough. The construction is good enough. I'm happy enough with it. Outside of regular maintenance, when they break down you throw them away. There is a reason you have never seen a Trophy rebuild thread anywhere. Not the worst boat, but not a Hourston.

Like any other boat if kept in good working order they'll sell for close to what you paid as well. Caught a f*ck ton of fish on my 245 party party model.

Down here in Washington they are a fairly well sought after boat. They are a pretty good boat. Don't know what that motor outdrive combo is. I think they have a V6 up to a 350 fuel injected motor. That being said for me, I am not an inboard guy and have bigger boats. But if it is what you are looking for in a boat and its in good shape it, could be a good buy. I would have a reputable surveyor look at it, the motor, outdrive, and trailer. No matter what used boat you buy, typically there will be thousands of dollars to be spent after you get it. Just my observation after owning many boats. If the price is right and it pencils out for you, and is what you want go for it. No one knows what you want better then yourself as there is no perfect boat.

Looks awesome! How many flybridges do you think can you fit on there?

Anyone that says there is no perfect boat has never ridden a double eagle 176.

Campion 622 is still my preferred for some reason, kinda like the look a little better but if the price is right and its NOT a total redo then I will consider. I am still awaiting more pics and info on this boat. It's no where near a done deal...
