Fished from daybreak until 11:00 at Beecher today. Hooked 5 springs between 6-8 pounds and kept 4 between the 2 of us. Bait worked much better than spoons today. Caught all of our fish at 120 feet in 250-320 feet of water at the mouth of the bay. Beautiful conditions. Why is it not like this more often in the winter? Keep hoping to catch a few fish on my fly rod with a spoon but slow going so far. Maybe next time.
