Thankx. Well, my birthday fish today (Monday) was a smaller spring way out in the tidelines off of Becher. He's not big, but PLENTY for sushi! Was a little slow in the bay it seemed..q

I did a long slow boring troll from Oak Bay, past Clover point, nothing and then once I got around Brochie ledge...bang bang bang.
theres lots of small springs right in close in the kind of soupy water coming out of the gorge. 120 '
One word of advice. Not a finesse fishery. Horse them in quick. I had terrible problems with sea lions and seals taking fish as soon as you hook up

Sounds like the 3-4 lb fish have moved down to Victoria.
was there lots of bait showing on the sounder as well ?

Good buddy of mine went out today , maiden voyage in his new to him double eagle ...nice ride
anyhow , said it was dead , sounder was empty, nothin . stayed near fraser island , headed out to the other boats a little ways out .. NADA
this guy catches fish , and said he threw thw book at them

i maybe out on sunday. hopefully the boat ramp wont be a sheet of ice!
On my way out for high slack, hope I don't KILL myself walking down the ramp to the damn boat with armloads of stuff!

skunked today... yesterday 10&5 lb springs off the waterfront
fishing deep 160-180 with glo/green hootchie.
the larger fish had several 6 inch herring in it.
maybe time to go to larger bait/lures

Slow today, lost one, and kept three standard issue.. Sounder was dry today as well. Getting to be about that time in East Sooke, time to burn some gas and look around a little..
