If you left the dock at 8 and back at 9 then you probably had 40 minutes of actual fish time which means you were landing a fish every 2.5 minutes!? Those are some wild stats. Never seen numbers quite like that...except for pink fishing. Where abouts off sooke? Sounds like you were running hardware rather than bait to catch so many fish in such a short period of time - bait would have taken too long I imagine...??

ya!thats power fishin.You should be a guide.

it must be something in the water

Wow, Those are some heavy numbers??? We went out and hit Whirl Bay and Becher today and bonked four, from 8- 13 lbs. Lots of 4-5 lb fish around in Whirl. Took 12 total in 3 hours to our boat with two rods wet, not quite the powerman 15/hr ??? Pretty good out there for this early though. I saw a 18.8 weigh in at Cheanah. The older fellow went to check a crab trap and decided to drop a line for a few minutes and was rewarded. Get out there and drag your balls in the mud !!!

That's what I wanted to hear, boys. Just repowered both kicker and main so I'm dying to try them out. Saturday, maybe.

Yammy5 of course I don't use bait in the winter , it's pointless and yes you would spend your whole day changing anchovies. So here's my math. 5minutes to sooke bluffs , one hour fishing with no time to sit on my rear end as it was non stop double headers. If you
want our exact docking time it was 9:10 am. Its awesome out there and I will be out there
again this weekend for another hour of fun. I'm sure my weekend guests will love it.
The only down side to this if there is one is the fish are under 10 pounds.

Have fun if you get out this weekend!

For all you math wizards out there...I was also out on Constance bank on sat...and caught 1 in 4 hours. So I would have to say that yes those are incredible numbers for sooke. You should get out there I am sure none of you will be disappointed.
ps: I am a guide

Is Sunny Shores the only place to launch out there now?

Any reports from Pedder Bay? Last year in the early part of the winter we found larger fish there.

Tips.

Sooke Marina still open. You are 100percent correct. Sooke is very good for Springs. Yesterday the Killers went through and I thought that was it for rest of afternoon. Wrong, the feeding frenzy started.Ilost, broken leader, app 10lber. Go figure. Fish full of herring. Good to see for once.

just yankin your chain Codfish.

it must be something in the water

Maybe the higher sea temp? Im still perplexed by the Killers comming through, feeding and the bite comes on in the same area after they head for Otter.

Confirm Codfish. I fished the Bluffs Monday hit 12 fish between 5 and 8 pounds from 7:30 to 9 a.m.(thats fishing time not running time for the math formula). Had one on on before we had two lines in the water and two in 10 minutes. November in Sooke is awesome for numbers but can be frustrating for size. Pretty smart comments yammy you should go try it yourself it is absolutly newb proof out there right now. Codfish was that you guys in the Campion or the Renell?
