What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Wally try a little trick I know of heat the hub up and use a candle or a wax stick to push into the output shaft splines on the hub. The wax works it’s way into the splines and can usually loosen something like that up
I tilted the motor up a week ago and left a can of Deep Creep beside it, every time I thought of it I gave it a squirt. Took it down the shop today, and damn! it took just 2 hits with a deadblow hammer and it she popped. Fk me was I ever surprised.

All the extra time saved not tinkering with the prop was quickly used searching for the flush attachment...

But in the end I got all oils changed and other service items complete, she can go to bed soon for the year.

That Deep Creep is no joke, love that stuff.

All this talk about pulling the prop and lubing got me nervous so I pulled mine after 2 years, lubed and reinstalled without issue, whew!

Since I bought the Grady 208 I've been wondering why they made the flip down front well on that model,it doesn't seem to be necessary.I have a 225 Yamaha on mine which is bigger than most ,but maybe Suzuki or Merc are taller requiring more room to tilt up.Anyways I realized it was just a matter of time till I raised the main and hit the flat piece of starboard. So I decided to cut it to fit around the Yamaha when in full tilt mode at any angle. It worked out well, now I can leave my knives, pliers, bonker and halibut weights in the flat piece of starboard and never have to fold it down when raising the motor.Pictures should show what I mean if your not familiar with the folding front well.
