What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Got ours back today from the shop, we had a 15HP Merc Prokicker installed, along with Garmin smart pump auto pilot, upgraded 1KW b175HW transducer and some maintenance work. Should be all ready for some serious fishing now! Can’t wait

PS the Merc and Yamaha colors drive me a bit nuts but I wanted more power than a 9.9 and fuel injection so I guess I gotta learn to love it haha

Awesome!
you can paint the yamahas black and put new decals on them. I’ve seen it done before and it looks cool, especially on a Grady

Love the custom bend to the steering tie rod.

Having the additional umph from the bigger alternator is nice too. I never have to worry about plugging my boat in when I get home. It’s always topped up.

Fixing my no power at dash or ignition issue today. Battery disconnect switch shorted out and cooked my fusible link. At least I hope that’s what it is. Heavy rain one day, next day turned the switch to bat1 at the lake and it sparked inside. Got busy loading gear and was outside the boat when I smelled burnt wires. Jumped in and shut it off but… too late. Main battery cable was a little melted and now I have no power at the dash or the ignition. Headed to the boat right now to sort it out.

Are you from the states? I’ve never seen a mooching rod with a level wind and bells attached.
Haha. That’s a lamiglass trolling rod that’s meant for a level wind reel. I have the bells on that side cause I can’t see that rod when I’m driving. The other side has a planer board out and I pay most of my attention to that as it’s very easy to miss a bite. And no, I’m not American.

Built me a lure charger last week. Ordered a UV light strip off Amazon, used wood for the box. Not entirely happy with the out come of how I had to lay out the light strip but it worked. Runs off a USB plug which the boat has. Amazing the difference it makes in charging the lures, bright and fast. You could use a lure for a flashlight its crazy lol. Has slots cut for the flashers and a lure hanger on the end.

Took me forever to get too. But I finally got my butt in gear and finally bent the aluminum that will be the trim around the front of the boat. Just didn't want to screw it up, so I procrastinated forever. Now I have to cut a slot in it all along, slide it on the deck edge and weld it. At my pace it should be ready by 2025 or so.....or maybe I will get it done tomorrow...

What do you run the USB to for a power connection? Cigarette lighter/USB plug adapter?

It runs off a USB plug in. The boat has a double USB plug quick charge outlet in the dash also has the usual cigaret lighter plug in. I had to get and extension for the power cord that came with the lights so that I can place the box on the floor beside and behind my seat, someplace it can ride while under power and not slide around.

I currently have a glow cup for lures (flasher won't fit) and use the old cig lighter with the plug in adaptor, but think a direct connected USB outlet would be better for more juice, maybe replace the lighter with one instead of adding.
