Water color this year

Well I have been fishing a few times now for the beginning of the season from sooke out to Renfrew to ukee. What is the deal with the watercolour this year? If it's like this all over bc? I was wondering if anyone has any Insite into this. I first thought maybe an algae bloom or red tide of some sort but it seems to be consistent on the south end of the island. How have you guys been dealing with it. I am still catching fish everywhere just a bit slower than what was predicted.

Just curious

No...it's not everywhere in BC

yes...it's a type of algae bloom....

It is more common than you think...........we had one here last year where I fish for a short while.......

Some do nothing and use the same tackle.................but..there are recommendations for colors to use when the water is tea-colored.......

Yep it's an algae bloom. Runs as far south as at least Westport WA ( maybe farther). Is starting to clear now. Is clear if you get offshore.
