Walk through Windshield

I just bought a used Campion 185 Allante HT.
Now I noticed that the 3 piece windshield doesn't have a hinge, it's just siliconed in place. There is a step on the Dash but the windshield doesn't open. Since the boat has about 6' of Bow, and it's solid, I would like to be able to use that, both for anchoring, and beaching. There is no other way to get on the bow (thin, angled gunwale). Are there any hinge solutions to turn this into a walk through? I'm guessing I would also have to add support braces on both sides.

Piano hinge with pop rivets should do it. You'll also need some kind of stop to prevent the door flopping through the opening. A piece of flat stock pop riveted in place comes to mind. And yes you need support braces.

I got support braces from Ocean Pacific here in Campbell River, but they are just Sea Dog brand and are "cut to fit" so you just measure what works in your boat and install. Really easy.

stainless piano hinge.. it aint cheap, but its the tits.
