Volvo penta 280 power trim not lifting.

Hey guys I came into the dock tonight and my leg wouldn't lift. It's an older volvo penta 280. The motor was humming but it wouldn't raise or lower. I'm thinking it's the oil but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

If your not sure then why not check the oil level. Then perhaps you'll be a step further troubleshooting.

Assuming it is an older 280 with power "tilt" it does not use oil. Electric motor with worm gear.

Your right no oil, it's electric. The pin on the motor was sheared off. Easy enough fix. Thanks
