Why do you think they come prepackged with trebles?

Cuz that's the way they have come for the last 40 years or so - never been much of a "follower"

I beg to differ way harder to get it "right" prefer a big treble which works like a counter balance, depends on what roll you want

I love how fast it is to rig a chovie with trebles and how it is easy to consistently get the spin I want. However when there are too many undersize fish around I will switch to tandem singles to help facilitate release. It is a bit harder to get the roll I like so it adds a bit of time to get a bait down but the more I practice the faster I get. Both riggings have their merits.

Sometimes I do put a stinger usually a 4/0 single about 3 inchs back just over tail .
