I love this thread. I've been fishing with my 4 1/2 year old for the last 3 seasons and my 2 year old started coming out this year too.

My 4 1/2 year old got his first salt water spring this year (almost unassisted but not pictured) and his first pink on the fly this year (I did the casting but he brought it in)

I have yet get my 7 yr old daughter to reel one in, but she was pretty shocked initially by the gills. She thought the redness was something we did to it! She got over it soon enough and wanted to bonk the next fish...
