I have no experience with the smart tabs. Based my purchase on feedback and fishing forums. I thought they were a more reasonable alternative for getting up on plane on those odd occasions when the boat was heavily loaded. After I got them I realized that their positioning on the boat would not work for my setup so I scraped the idea.
