Summer fishing oppurtunities

Hi all, new angler here. Just wondering what species and areas are productive that doesn't require a boat. Not interested in salmon. Thanks in advance.

Pile Perch and to a lesser extant Surf Perch are widely distributed-all kinds of videos on how to target them

Rockfish are tougher because of the nature of the coast -huge tides & swell mean you have to know both & fish at certain times but if you find them they're easy to hook.

Lingcod season is short and while they're not exclusively a deep water fish you're more likely to hook one from shore while trying for Rockfish.

Somehow I forgot all the flatfish probably all the easiest of all to catch-a tiny hook, a weight, and a piece of clam, mussel, or meat and you're set.

And of course Dogfish again meat on the bottom does the trick.

Trout and bass from the lakes and streams, rockfish and flatfish from the shore. You may hook into a pesty salmon but you can probably shake them off if your not interested in them.

Red Tail surfperch of Westcoast can be awesome. Good eating and lots of fun for the young ones. Very shallow water in the surf and where rocks meet sandy beaches. Best bail is a 2 inch camo berkley gulp sandworm. Had days of dozens of fish in a few hours. Carolina rig and reel in slowly
