Spectacle lake

I'm heading up to spectacle lake with my belly boat in the next couple days to do some fly fishing and was wondering if anyone could provide some suggestions on what sort of flies are productive in this lake.

How was the fishing? What did you use?

I have been successful using small nymphs in the spring.

In the fall (Oct), they come to the surface and I have had good success with Tom Thumbs.

The fishing was great.
I caught 14 in about 4 hours of fishing, all on a green doc spratley and a black blood worm. Will definitely give this lake another look.

Well thats lame. There have always been a handfull of lakes on Vancouver Island That provided something a little differant. The brook trout fishing used to be great. I remember catching a lunker that had a belly full of bumble bees, a salamander, a full crayfish and my fly.
