Shuswap Lake near Magna Bay fishing

Hey there. I'm on holiday with my family...planning to have a crack at some fish in between pulling a tube around. Any general pointers? I would love to catch a laker if I could...I have my downrigger, a jigging rod, a sounder/plotter and my licence...I was thinking just troll until I mark some? Then drop a jig? Big lake though....where does a guy start?

Shoulda have posted this in the freshwater forum. Drop a glow plug or a slow troll apex down to 100ft and just go hunting. If you can find a bunch in 80-120ft sitting on bottom then you can drop a jig down for a try.

Thanks for the reply. I just got back. I managed to hook 2 small lake trout on a Fishinator 3" plug about 50'behind the rigger and 30' down. BGS colour....not sure what that means but it sure looked good swimming back there! I fished near Eagle Bay.
Let the fish go. I did drop a buzz bomb but no luck. I also only put a few hours in, but still am happy to have fished.

I was chasing marks on the sounder, as they were scattered about.
