I recently heard but have not had time to confirm that Rivers on the East side of Vancouver Island that have been closed for years have reopened.
Can anyone confirm this?
Anyone fished Steelhead in any of these rivers yet and can give a report? Nanaimo River?

I have a few favorite rivers that I like fish but I am looking to find some new places to fish. I fish from shore and have all the proper gear.

Anyone looking to share some information or looking for someone to fish with? I live in Victoria, have 4 wheel drive and like to hike and explore. I enjoy fishing alone but splitting the gas bill makes a morning of catch and release more reasonable.

I know the nanaimo river is open but not sure about the rest.A friend fished the nanaimo last week for a couple of hours but had no luck.But thats pretty normal for this time of year
