Anyone interested? Anyone going?
I think the fishing will be great! Scouted out some spots yesterday with my father and we caught a few good sized bass.
Plus it'd be cool to see a face or two.

should be good if everyone doesnt go out and rape the whole lake for 3 days straight prior to the tournament and make the fish all tight lipped for the tournament.

Im planning on going. It'll be only about the 5th time bass fishing i started this spring and i love it!I was wondering though do the bass stay in the shallows all summer long? And has anyone tried long lake i hear they have some monster smallmouths?

I too will be looking forward to meeting some of you. I will be on the lake Saturday as well so please don't be shy. If you want to see some of our gear feel free to ask.

Good luck to everyone..

On long lake the other day some guy told us that you can't fish bass until the 15th of june.Is this true? I thought you just couldn't keep them so i just kept fishing and it was pretty slow with only 2 small bass.

You're right-no retention until June 15.

that's why there's a warranty!

Yeah, we made that mistake last year and missed out on some of the best bass times. No retention til the 15th. But you probably should let em go anyway right?
So FH. What are you bringing to the tournament? I'll be the guy with the goatee, in a 15 foot aluminum + 9.9HP and his dad. Look me up and we'll chat.

Really? The biggest I have caught was 3.3lbs. The weights of the bass that came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd last tourney were 3.6-3.1lbs. But this may be a result of guys pounding the lake beforehand.....
I think that there are more 3lb+ fish in Quennel than Shawnigan, Elk or Long but I think there are bigger fish in those lakes.

That sounds encouraging for the weekend!Hopefully i'll get some beginners luck and catch one of those 7-8lb. hawgs<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>. My friend caught a 6 or 7lber in long lake and i know of another one around the same size that goes under the same dock every year, but you dont hear of too many fish caught there but they usually are bigger. The trout in long lake tend to be the opposite of the bass, they all seem skinny and 11-12inches long. The biggest i caught there was 13.5inches, but i did hear that they used to get alot bigger a while back, could this be the bass taken alot of the food not allowing trout to grow very fast?

Also has anyone done an pre-fishing before the tourney? If so how was it?And hopefully to many people dont so the fish will be agressive for sunday.

Well we went out last monday but didn't pound each spot. We'd catch a bass and then move on. Just to see where they are and what they're biting on. I have faith that sunday is going to be good.
Maybe I'll hold that info ransom so you'll come talk to me on sunday.
Fished Shawnigan today. Saw a few big ones but they wouldn't bite. The smaller ones did tho. Quite a few 2lbs and under.
