110 feet of water 15 minutes from the boat launch.They are where you find em and sometimes they are not around to be found so you have to look some where else.You just don't go out and and get em.I fish and run from spot to spot that I plot out on my computer and down load to my gps.Get a fish and it is a way point!! Never gone halibut fishing..... but that photo has inspired me to try to find the time to make it over to the island and give it a go.
Our spring/summers are a write-off due to the business but how late into the fall does the season go without worrying about getting blown back off the ocean???
Not a giant myself(Horizontaly challenged with a low center of gravity)!!! The butt weighted 144 lbs on the scale in Pt.McNeil That was just before halloween 2006 flat calm and sunny skies!!

Nice fish Kronic biggest i've picked up in that area was 75lbs .Caught her at the tail end of the Knight inlet near Minstrel.Fish out of Telegraph a few times a year and am just itching to get back.
