Having access to our local lakes and waterways is important for outdoor activity and our mental well being.
It has been said time and again by our Provincial Health Officer that outdoor activity while physically distancing is important for our mental health and our Provincial Government has ordered that fishing and hunting are essential activities.
With all Forestry Sites and Provincial Parks closed access to our waterways is very limited. This action has prevented citizens from being able to fish, as a form of outdoor activity, as most access is by utilizing boat launches within those locations.
Opening Provincial parks and Forestry campsites for day use only will allow access to the boat launches within those locations.
The success of this petition will allow all citizens of BC to access their local waterways to improve mental well being and carry out an essential activity as stipulated by the Province of B.C.
We ask that all Provincial Parks and Forestry Sites with boat launches be opened for day use to allow access to the boat launches within those locations.
