I was in the US on the weekend and was going to buy some new PDFs for my boat. All I could see on them is US coastguard and UL certification. Would these be legal in Canada?

Weird, all of the pdfs had the same certification on them. I was at Cabella's. So US fishermen coming to Canada need special pdfs?

usa pdf's are not legal for Canadian residents, i do not know how they treat a Usa resident/vessel. if you are a Canadian it needs a ulc or csa certification

Probably the same exemption that there is for U.S. boat trailers-they don't have to comply with our brake laws-they can run surge as long as it's legal in the trailer registered state. Must be the same with the PFD,s. They also don't have to have the boating card.

just remember the PFD inflatable only counts as a pfd if you are wearing it!

i will leave the pdf file jokes elsewhere.
