Yes, 2018 this was announced with Jan 2019 becoming mandatory to carry $250,000 liability insurance per passenger. Also requirement to carry copy of the insurance on board the vessel at all times.

Interesting. Do you know if that exemption applies to guide boats? (link within the ship safety bulletin link) i.e. The exemption for "adventure tourism vessels" who have guests sign a waiver.

Why wouldn’t you carry at least a million. 250k wouldn’t do much to save you if an accident became fatal.

Carrying a copy of your insurance has been mandatory for a long time. Same as your registration
