I was thinking of painting my 14 ft welded aluminum but have no idea what this entails. Is there any way to paint aluminum with some amount of durability other than powder coat?
I wanted to make it all black but it's looking like more headache than it's worth.
Its really not that hard. Aluminum clean it, prep, wash with alodine wipes, epoxy, couple coats of single stage paint and your good to go.

Gary is the same epoxy/alodine we use in aerospace? Just curious..... I didn't know if it was any different?
PM Albernifisher. He paints all the Lifetimer boats. He's on it.
Personally I would leave it raw for the natural ability of the aluminum to protect itself.
