Does the green haze have a purple backing or is that a reflection in the photo?

That's the U/V coating on the metal.

Thanks. The only retail store at the moment is The Harbour Chandler in Nanaimo.

Seafever is correct, it is the UV coating that makes it look like that. In different lighting the coating will appear clear.
