Anyone fishing off pipers don't drag your downriggers over
N49 13.874' West123 56.508'
I did last night and I hung up on what I think is a comercial prawn line. A couple weeks ago I was trolling by a logboom headed through Hortsmans Channel there and I saw a commercial buoy hung up in the boom so I think someones traps are all sitting there after getting dragged in from deeper waters it was green line fairly new it didn't have algea all over it yet I tried hand balming the thing but it was way too heavy that didn't last long. Anyways I was just happy to not lose any gear I have manual downriggers so I was able to crank the thing up real slow, so hopefully this will help some one else from having the same thing happen to them. Mark your gps.

Thanks very much, how far out from Pipers is it. Is it anywhere near that spot that shallows up to about 30 feet??

It's out further close to the outer hump, when your out there just try to imagine the route those big logbooms take when they're going through the channel there it's in about 160 of water.
