I am wondering what is the correct etiquette when making a moorage reservation for a boat do you declare the absolute length of the boat (bow to the back of motor) or do you declare the registered length of the boat?
if you're booking a reservation and want to make sure there's a big enough space for you when you get there, you better tell them your overall length.
That being said...we overnight in many different marinas throughout the summer (almost every weekend from May long weekend through Labour Day) and I've never been charged for more than 24'...they take one look at the '240' on the side of my boat and go with that.
