hey all
i was out last week for the end of the halibut season, when i got back to the marina i threw in the 20 ltr jerrycan of gas in my built in tank, and proceded to hose the gear/boat off. half way through i noticed that the tank lid was still off.
im sure i got water in there, how much i dont know?
i have a filter between the tank and engine
should i pump out the tank before starting it.
any info would be nice
thanks ahead of time[8)]

IF there's water in there, it won't make it to the filter until you've run the engine for a bit to draw it from the tank to the filter. Empty the seperator cup before you start, run the engine for a while and check the cup. run it again for 10 minutes and empty it again. Keep repeating until you're getting nothing but fuel.
I check my seperator almost everytime before I go out.

went to sg an picked up a filter with a clear bowl on the bottom with a little drain...
guys down there are pretty good at helping you out..
bit pricey though. 60 odd for the filter..
better that a carb rebuild or syphoning the gas out...

Dump about 1/2 cup methyl hydrate in the tank.
It'll evaporate about that much water as it evaporates itself.
