I have a 30hp Merc EFI outboard with remote controls.
It isn't even completely broken in yet.
I notice when I move the throttle lever from zero, it has to go a fair bit before the engine increases throttle. I have no problem going through the entire throttle range.
On occasion I have trolled with it because my 4hp Merc Kicker is so g*damm noisy.
When I troll with the 30, I will have the throttle lever set at a certain position (quite low).
Sometimes without warning, the rpm will increase......not hugely, but enough to increase speed slightly. And sometimes it is hard to find the exact 'sweetspot" for a low throttle setting. You either have to move the lever too far ahead or bring it back because now you are over where you wanted to be.
Runs real nice other than that.
Is this linkage or what ?
