How wide can you go on a boat trailer before you need a permit?

and......is the width based on 'outside of wheel to other outside of wheel'? on the trailer......or is it whatever the widest point of the entire rig (boat or trailer) is?

Overall width of rig is 8'-6" (2.6 m.) maximum before requiring a permit.

As mentioned 8'6"wide & 75 feet long 14'6" high unless lower height posted on obstruction above.

Hmmm... I thought it was 9'?

Red flags at the back and at the widest point. Both sides of course...

Permits are easy, just call in and done over phone, 20$ per day or 30$ for the month
Permit can be emailed within minutes

The permit goes with the truck not the boat.
Permitted truck can tow any boat but not the other way around.
