Marine charts

What area you looking for Kelly? Somebody gave me a bunch of marine charts the other day and I don't have use for a lot of them. I can have a look through them and see if what you're looking for is in the pile. If I don't need it, I'll be happy to pass them on to you if you can get some use out of them.

I will tell you, they're not real recent, most are 1980's.

OK, when I get a chance I'll take a look and see if there's one for that area. I'll let you know.

Accually there is a site you can download FREE charts off of. Here it is.
http://www-heb.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/maps/maps-data_e.htm

Just click the mapster2.0 link and zoom into area of interest. Then click add chart. You will see a new tool appear (looks like a black arrow pointig at black square). click that and then click on area you want. A list of charts will appear in right column select the one you want of appropriate scale and there you go. Click save map and wait. In right hand column right click the save option and click print. Wha La, you have your chart. I hope this helps.

HiYa Kildonan,
By any chance have the marine chart for off Beale and Pachena?? I'd be interested, and likely have some good swapping material on hand <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Wondering...

Hi Kelly, I have what you're looking for. Shoot me an e-mail and we can nail down a way of getting it to you.

And Nog... sorry mate, nothing for Beale and Pachena. The ones I have are all for ECVI. I would have even delivered them and traded for a morning's outting for sox on your local pond. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

No Problemo Kildonan, just thought it might be worth askin'.
Heard there's already been a few sox (netted of course) so the search begins soon. Letcha know as it goes, and likely willing to letcha tag along for a morning anyway <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Cheers,
Nog

Kelly, I apologize, Nick, great site suggestion.... never heard of it before, and believe me. I used to search for something like this alot until I got a mapping sonar....

I find that the mapster site doesn't print out clear enough unless 'mega zoomed'. Never tried as described by Mr. Nameless though...

Is a good place to 'poke around' looking for new territory!. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Wish it was a little more user friendly. Takes allot of fiddling to get it somewhat figured out. <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle> (frustrating)

Good luck,
Dean

Glad you all like the site, but I agree, it's not the most user friendly and takes practice to print off a good chart. But with all the wind this week, there is plenty of time to practice.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

just remembered this and was trying to make a map. i thought you used to be able to include the ocean depth. i looked and tried but to no avail. Is it possible?

Nog,

I have what you want. Send me an email with your address and I'll send them to you.
