The latest issue of this magazine spelled out some truths about fishfarming.
Since this magazine is well subscribed, and is Canada wide in scope, I found this to be very signifigant. They welcome viewers responses to their articles so thought some of the many experts on this subject might want to add their thoughts. Living out of Province, I dont know enough to omment on the subject, but feel this is an excellent opportunity for those that do.

Sorry, here is the lead:

Have heard that within a year or so federal fisheries will be taking over regulation of fish farms. I do not know if they had much or any input from first farms started. However if this does happen the scope of federal fisheries is to promote wild salmon preservation. Could be very interesting. Any one else heard anything?

Let's hope that this coverage brings some additional focus on the matter. I just don't see how the economical benefits of fish farming outweigh the value of wild salmon in all other respects. Especially when these fish farms are totally foreign-owned. It just seems ridiculous to me.[V]
