LGL steelhead Mort study

Thanks for posting study. With all the fear mongering regarding bait and FFO regulations, its pretty clear from the LGL study that as far as steelhead are concerned there is only a 1.1% release to spawn mortality. These are fish largely caught on drift fishing gear using both bait and other commonly used tackle. This was not some study on trout caught on worms as has been posted by some. This is a steelhead in BC study, not trout in Montana. Pretty clear there is no scientific basis for FFO as a so called "conservation" tool.

Also pretty clear that MOE's obsession with placing the blame on anglers for the decline of steelhead isn't particularly science based. Nor is the obsession with regulating anglers or angling groups like drift fishers or spinning rod fishers off rivers. An epic mis-representation of the science.

Real science in BC (2004), not mumbo jumbo 1994 crap from some trout fishery in Montana.
