ISO 2002-2005 YAMAHA F225 LOWER UNIT

Mechanic confirmed the gears in the leg are gone and replacement won't arrive until sometime next year. Looking for a complete bottom gear case unit that is regular rotation and fits 2002-2005 Yamaha F225.

I'm been thinking of switching one of my legs out for a counter rotating. they're 2004 f200 and both standard rotation. let me see what I can find and then ill have one to sell you if you want.

Have you thought about just rebuilding the LU yourself? Just buy a new pinion, dog clutch, or whatever from Yamaha for a couple hundred bucks and do it in your garage. Lots of videos on Youtube for this. It's not hard with the right tools (lower bearing carrier puller, mainly) and some new seals/orings.

I can also dig up some contacts from Florida and Massachusetts that sell used LU's -- they have a healthy used market there. LMK.

Found a lower unit thanks to @ Fixit and finally had it installed today by Ship Happens. Both awesome dudes. Hope to get back on the water soon for some prawns, winter salmon fishing and flounder pounders.
