Installing New Fish Finder

Hi guys,

I just bought a Garmin Striker Plus 4 Fish Finder.

I am looking for some advice on the install on my Malibu 162 - 16.5 foot boat.

It has a depth sounder on it already. Should I keep that or remove it and just put the new transducer in the same spot?

If you don’t need the original transducer I’d remove it, then put a dab of marine sealant in and around the existing holes and put just the screws back in.
Then mount your new transducer run all wiring and enjoy your new pic. I have the striker 7 and the pic is amazing!

Unless both units are CHIRP & use the same frequency range they will interfere with each other - loose the old unit.

You can keep it. Run one unit 50hz the other on 200hz. Adjust the ping speed. That or pull it
