ignition problem

I have a 4 stroke 9.9 merc kicker and starts and runs great but when i turn the key off it continues to run. Any suggestions?

under the cowl of the engine on the side opposite the carb, you will see a bunch of wire connections. look for one that is disconnected

Most likely is the kill wire has a bad ground.

Could be bad ground at the switch. Could be the switch itself. Could be the Magento wire at the switch or not connected inside the engine compartment..
