Good chart for new Lowrance HDS5

Well, finally got all the packages home and ready to rip out the old fish finder ,gps and handheld plotter to install the HDS5.
Just need a recommendation for the correct chart chip to buy.
The unit comes with Nautical Insight charts,but, don't know how they cover WCVI or Vancouver Howe Sound ..
Any recommendations welcome, would hope to keep the price resasonable if possible .. Still flying under the boss's radar with the upgrade..LOL

Wow, I thought Furuno and Jeppessen beat me up pretty badly for charts for my Navnet unit but that Navionics Platinum pricing is in nose-bleed territory!

That only covers US waters.

I'm pretty happy with my old Navionics Gold chip. Had the platinum also but traded it for a new Cmap chip. I only use the Cmap for tuna fishing because it shows the canyons better. Other than that I use the Navionics Gold for everything else.

Navionics Gold is definitely the standard. Good detail and accuracy. Runs about $200. As Sculpin said, not sure you get much more with the platinum for the extra $

if you are in the central island area try Harbor Chandler in Nanaimo. they sold me a used chip last week, works just fine in my Lowrance
