Five Nations Injunction

They lost the injunction but still have the appeal.

In most of the cases so far judges have refused to rule on what % should be allocated to each sector. So it will be interesting to see how the appeal goes.

It gets harder as you climb the ladder especially on appeals. I expect they will lose. This is based on they have to prove DFO is not accommodating the fishery. I do agree we need to all work together, but this seemed unreasonable. Commercial were kicked out of fishery, and waited. Something that still make no sense is why not instead of fighting embrace the recreational fishery, and create economic opportunities within each of bands along side us.

Cheanuh band on South island is a perfect example. Full service marine, store, community etc centered around recreational fishery. Something like that generates more money per year than this fishery, and employment for it's members. If we could just get the bands to understand that we would all be better off.

Remember DFO court fees are paid by the taxpayer , so we all lose when things are tied up in court.
